Well, it's happened...I've arrived. I've been linked, not once, but twice to my mentors blog!
Oh yes.
Linked.
Me.
I'm tingly.
Kristie and her family had dinner with us a few nights ago and because of that I made her blog. Because of that I received a comment today asking for my recipes. So.....(drum roll please) I will be posting them, hopefully tomorrow. I would really like to do it like Pioneer Woman does on her cooking section, but I'm pretty sure it will not be that spectacular. Still, worth checking out.
So my four or five faithful readers, stay tuned!
And thank you 'anonymous' for asking!

Cousins
When I was finally at the appropriate dating age I was very selective as to whom I would date. I had two rules:
1)I would not date a guy whose hair was longer then mine
2) I would not date a guy that was an only child
My thinking behind #2 was that since I was an only child if I married an only child our children would not have aunts and uncles or first cousins. Pretty intuitive on my part, don't you think? Imagine my excitement when I started dating Shawn and found out he had three brothers. But it didn't work out quite as I had planned. Of the four brothers there are nine children but we're in three different states. The cousin in Oklahoma with us lives about two hours away and leads a pretty busy life. Not quite what I had wanted.
But wait! There's good news. Because my Uncle Kevin is 14 years younger then my dad and 12 years older then me, his children are pretty close to mine in age. They are the family that blessed us with the Disney trip and who we bothered for a few days recently. While we were there I got what I had always wanted.

And general merriment-
It was wonderful!

How I Spent My Summer
So if I had a classroom to go back to after summer vacation and was asked what I did over the break, I wouldn't need words.

HELP!!!
I would hope that all of my readers are praying people because that's how I am but.....
I'm out of town. We just can't get enough of that wacky family that took us to Disney World so we're at their house for a few days to bother them.
I, of course, brought two laptops, a camera, all the necessary cords, and my best friend. My external hard drive. Can you hear the angels singing?? Imagine my shock and horror when I plugged it in and it didn't work! I had Tyler look at it because he's smart but he couldn't help. We plugged it into a different computer, tried a different cord, and wept. Well, just me. Then I pulled my best kept secret out...I called Shawn. He's a computer tutor extraordinaire. But he couldn't help:( I have to wait until I get home to see what he can do in person.
So back to my original reason for this post. If you're of the praying variety, please pray. If you light incense or candles and meditate, please do. If you dance outside with chicken parts, dance away.
I'm scared! A blog without pictures? I'm not witty enough to pull that off!

Bike Ride
As we sat outside last night eating dinner Shawn and I decided we should all go for a bike ride. We usually just ride around our neighborhood but he suggested we take our bikes to the lake. Boy am I glad we did! Look what greeted us as we came up from under the bridge.
It was such a great night!
We had plans to go to the playground but from where we started it was on the complete opposite side! We decided instead to practice rock skipping.
Shawn is really good!
I, of course, just took pictures until my battery went dead.

Wow! Look at that sky. Isn't God amazing?
