Perfect Coloring

As I was leaving Wal-Mart last night I had to stop and take some pictures.I pulled over again exactly 7 minutes later to take this. God did an amazing job of coloring the sky in...didn't He?

Good Friday

And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He gave up His spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. Please forgive the quality of these pictures. I took them with my cell phone while driving. Shhh, don't tell.

But the clouds made the frenzied trip to Wal-Mart get put into perspective. Easter is about family, and candy, and eggs. But most importantly it is about the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for us.

The clouds tonight were the reminder I needed.

Just What I Needed

Sing with me. "It's just what I needed!" I honestly can't remember any other part of that song except that. And I don't know who sang it. Or when it came out.

What is wrong with me?

Oh, that's right. It's that crazy time of year when I don't know how I'll ever get everything done. Today I read a Facebook status that said there were 9 days until Christmas. Can I tell you that I almost passed out. I had to pull out my calendar. And calculator. But it was right, 9 days. To make matters worse, that's only 2 school days. 2! I have 30 teacher gifts to make and 2 parties. Oh, and I have to finish Christmas shopping and plan and shop for all the food. Oh, and make goodies. Oh, and have several gifts ready for an all day pre-Christmas celebration with Shawn's family. Oh, are you tired of me saying 'oh'? I know I certainly am.

Moving on.

Monday morning my head was spinning with to-do lists and thoughts of how to pack lunches when I was out of old fashioned oats, hadn't made bread, and had no idea what to pack in lunches. I ran outside to scour the freezers for a spare loaf and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this.I think my socks froze to the ground while I stood and just stared. I needed this. A reminder from God that He is greater than everything.

Everything.

He's just what I needed:c)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't know if your turkey came in the window of your car as you drove through the church parking lot.I don't know if you avoided turkey Thursday because your pet turkey once saved your life.

I don't know if you were surrounded by family.

But I know that you were thought of with love as I listed the things I was thankful for.

Love you all!

Okay, I'm warming up to Texas

We've discussed before that Texas is not my favorite place in the world. But I have found myself here again. I'm a sucker for family togetherness.

We took off early this morning for some bonding and cousin time and headed over to Lubbock. We also had to rub in the fact that we get a Fall Break and they don't:)

Leaving at 5:15 in the morning meant that by the time we crossed the state line it was still dark outside. Well, dark and foggy. I lost sight of the end of the hood on about six occasions. But after passing through Amarillo the sun was out, the fog was gone, and the clouds were clearing. Well, ending. Did you know that the clouds just abruptly end? We didn't either.Soon enough we were back under some. At home we'd just ended seven straight days of rain and cloudy skies so this bright thing shining through was odd to us. My lovely assistant and navigator wouldn't get my camera out so I used my phone to capture these. Not bad for a 2 mega pixel camera.See why I was having trouble with my navigator? This is how she spent most of the trip. And speaking of trouble, could someone please tell me why this picture won't enlarge? Here I have this whole trick figured out, I'm even showing if off to my aunt right now, but this one is being persnickety. And I bet spell check will be all over that last word.

Oh well, I think you get my point, right? Okay state, amazing sky, great family.

That's it.

Goodbye.

*Update-I spelled 'persnickety' right! Can you believe it? But I honestly just typed 'believe' wrong three times.*

And now that's it.

Goodbye.

Forever.

Wow

I came home last Saturday night and saw this.
Doesn't it make my chimney and my most prized possession, my 'C', look beautiful?
I love it!
