Still there?

Well who would have guessed? I didn't think there was much that could keep me from blogging. It's my therapy, my release. I need it every day to keep me sane.

Enter Spring Break, and cousins, and three road trips, and an aunt and uncle, and three playgrounds, and a birthday party, and friends, and a bad movie...and well, I got busy.

So what I'm saying is...I missed you all. I hope you missed me. And I'm back!

That one little post I made with the random pictures has gotten some questions...so later tonight I'll be posting more pictures of the rainbow thing on the basketball court.

I know, you're all on the edge of your seats:c)

Snow Day, well sort of

I am in Oklahoma after all. The sleet and freezing rain started Monday morning.

I've been told those are not the same thing.

But I don't think I believe it.

By the time I decided I should go to the store because we had no fresh fruit or vegetables in the house there was already a sheet of ice on everything. Even in 4-wheel drive I was sliding quite a bit.

School was called for Tuesday at 5 on Monday. And now school for Wednesday has already been cancelled. It's 2:15 on Tuesday afternoon.

So you'd think that I'd be getting all comfy on my couch and making chili. BUT NO!! I'm packing to go out of town! Kennedy, McKinley, and I are headed to Tulsa tomorrow for Children's All-State choir.

Oh boy.

So back to the original reason for this post. Boy I can get side tracked, can't I?

I was checking the local news website to see if Shawn's soccer game tonight had been cancelled. As I was reading down the H's I found that the Hoof and Woof Chiropractic Clinic was closed today.

Hoof and Woof:)

Chiropractic Clinic:)

I love how I find out all these interesting things only because of an ice storm!

To all my Oklahoma readers...I hope you can stay home and be safe and warm! To anyone who will be driving the Turner Turnpike with me today...please don't hurt me!

Genes or Jeans?

I got the genetic worst of both my parents. I recently ran down the list for my dad and was not surprised that much when he looked stunned for a minute and then agreed with me.

Here's the short list-

*My dad is tall, thin, and has no behind, can't even hold up a pair of jeans. My mom was short, stocky, and round. Cute, until I became that.

*My mom had straight hair that took curl easily. My dad's has a natural wave to it that starts halfway down. I got the wave. It curls, but it doesn't last long.

*My mom had beautiful thin finger nails but they were paper thin. My dad has incredibly wide nails but they're rock hard. I got the paper thin, incredibly wide nails. They don't make fake nails wide enough for my thumb. That explains why I've only had my nails done twice.

Feel sorry for me yet?

There's so many more, but I don't want to depress myself.

So today I went shopping for jeans. Now, since I am not happy with my current size, and haven't been for about 10 years, I usually go to Goodwill. $3.50 is a worthy investment for me. Sadly, it's getting harder to devote 2 hours to dig through the racks and racks of pants and then try them all on. So today, with my head hanging low, I went to Academy.

Since my thighs apparently like each other so much they need to touch all the time (thanks mom) I struggle with picking them out. Mid, low, or high rise? Boot, authentic, straight leg? Acid, dark, or medium wash? Short, average, or tall length? Aaaaauuurrrggghhhh!!!

I don't like my jeans to double as an underwire so I don't go for high rise. Low, well, I don't need everyone to see my lower back tattoo. So mid.

Apparently the darker jeans are stylish now, so dark wash.

I'm a little too tall for short, a little too short for average, and way too short for tall. (Don't try re-reading that sentence, it won't make sense no matter how many times you read it.) I went for average and reminded myself not to wear flats.

Of course the cheap ones were too tight, the mid priced were to high, and the most expensive??? Fit perfectly.

It's my genes. They stink. But my jeans? They're not bad.

Of course, I don't like the size...

?

Can I just say that I am sitting in a house the looks like it has exploded?

Christmas decorations, bags from recent trip, two ice chests, 12 bags of gifted clothes, ornament boxes...I could go on.

But I won't.

I could show pictures.

But I won't.

Well, maybe.

Later.

If I don't get out of this mood...

Oh Good Grief

It's 11:31. I'm in Florida, staying at the happiest place on earth-Day 4. And I am now, officially happy. I FINALLY HAVE INTERNET!!!

A few questions for the people at Disney.

*Have you never heard of Wi-Fi?
*When given two cables for plug in internet, how am I supposed to know which one to use?
*When 17 and 20 year old male cousins can't figure out the problem, there must be an even bigger problem.
*When the front desk instantly sends you to the 'IT expert' and her questions are-
-is your computer plugged in
-is your provided cable plugged in
you might need a better 'IT expert'
*Why would you put the cable connection on one side of the room and the phone on the other?
*Why would you tie up the phone cord and make it nearly impossible to stretch across said room?
*When the REAL 'IT expert' is finally available should he freak out the mother with four sleeping girls by telling her he knows what complex and condo number she is in?
*Should the modem plug (that's behind a piece of furniture on the other side of the room) be unpluggable????? (Yes, that's a word)
*Should I still be awake? It's 11:41 and I have to be at the bus stop at 7:15.

Oh good grief. Goodnight

A true day.

Well, today was the reason I named my blog what I did. It was crazed! It all started with my alarm going off at 7 so I could get my roll dough out of the refrigerator and make four dozen No-Knead Knot Rolls to rise all day while we were gone. They were for the Supper Club that would be my child-free reward if I survived the days activites.

After we were all up and dressed in layers we were off to a soccer game. Reagan is the only girl on a team full of boys. She holds her own and has gotten twenty bucks from us for goals scored. That's a dollar a goal! She plays her games in what I lovingly refer to as, "The windiest place on earth." It's so bad that the teams usually switch goals at the quarters instead of halves so that no one has to get worn out playing against the wind. (You're all singing that song along with me right now, aren't you?)

After the win we had to 'divide-and-conquer' parent. I took McKinley so we could both get haircuts and go to her piano contest. Shawn took Kennedy and Reagan home to have lunch and get ready for Kennedy's theatre class.

My precious cousin is in hair school and gives slow, but cheap haircuts. I went first and McKinley looked through magazines for ideas. As I sat there and watched all the 20 something students walk around in their 80's fashions (yes, it's popular again to look like a hobo) with orange, yellow, purple, and green hair I was worried about what McKinley would want. Luckily she didn't have time for highlights or colors and picked a very age appropriate cut that looked nothing like the two girls with mohawks that were working near us! I think the new hairdo motivated her for her piano contest and she scored a 1+! You can't get any higher!

Finally all home I baked the rolls and Shawn and I got to go to a no-precious-children allowed Supper Club. How nice to have adult conversations with no interruptions!

The friend that hosted it is the reason I started this blog. I recently spent three days reading hers and laughed, cried, and was blessed during it. She has had an amazing life thus far and can write it pain, joy, or sadness. But...I couldn't tell her I had started my own. I wonder now why I didn't. Maybe because mine will never be like hers. She writes with humor and meaning, and has a way of making you feel like you're her best friend even if you don't know her. I guess someday I'll tell her. After all, she's my inspiration.

Kristie-If you're reading this, a few years down the line when I finally tell you about it, I loved the ham and potato casserole! Thanks for buying the expensive soup just so I could eat!!

Well, I've had a long day. I'm putting myself to bed.

Good night!
