How My Blog Got It's Name

I woke up yesterday with a sore throat.  And this morning?  Even worse.  But my crazy day doesn't care.  I did send the girls to school and then crawl back in bed for 2 hours.  I do believe that's the only way I got through the day. 

My schedule?

11:30-Take caramel sauce (that I forgot to buy this weekend) to Reagan's Sundae Party.
3:15-6-Reagan's Accelerated Reading party at a downtown bowling alley.
5:30-Get the girls ready for their voice recital.
6-Head to the church for warm-ups.
6:30-Kennedy's Middle School awards assembly at the school.
7-Voice recital starts at church.

And did I mention I didn't feel good?  I was trying to figure out how to go on Reagan's field trip and get her sister's home from school, fed, ready for voice recital, and get them to church.  I can almost guarantee that Shawn will have to work late if I am about to lose my mind.  And then my phone rang.  It was my sweet mother-in-law saying they were coming to the recital.  And when I told her how insane the day was getting, she said they'd come at 3 and take care of McKinley and Kennedy for me.  I.  Am.  So.  Blessed to have them. 

So I got to go bowling with no worries.  My spinning mind finally relaxed.  I packed up my camera, an entire box of Kleenex, and headed out.

We went to a really swanky bowling alley that is in Bricktown.  After 10 pm it becomes a 21 and older place.  I know that because I tried to go in and see some friends at exactly 9:59 with McKinley in tow two years ago.  So I'd never actually been in.  I have to say, once I got in, I was impressed.

And even though we left downtown right in the middle of rush hour, we made it home in time to get Reagan dressed, fed, and to the recital on time.  And all three of my girls did a fabulous job with their solos. 

So here I sit on the couch with my box of Kleenex looking at tomorrow's schedule. 

Oh boy.

Gold Medal Winner

I headed to Reagan's last Round Up this morning because she was going to be getting a math award.  During the school year the students are given tests called Math Tracks.  After you pass the preliminary tests in your class, you get to go to the Principal's Test.  If you pass that, you move up to the next harder one.  At the end of the school year students get medals based on how many they've passed.  Bronze, Silver, or Gold.  In first grade Reagan was one of two who got a gold.  A Math Whiz t-shirt was thrown in and it's still one of her favorite things.  In second grade her teacher saw that she was doing so well and moved her up a level.  Reagan panicked and was so worried she didn't end up passing it.  She was crushed when she got a silver medal.  But this year she was back on top!

I'm sure she gets her math skills from me:c)

Awards/Tags

Well, somewhere in the midst of my phone and laptop crashing I got behind on my claiming of awards and tags.

I also think that life got in the way.

I hate it when that happens.

So get ready, this is going to be quick and painless. I hope. With my broken tailbone and ablation surgery in the last week I am all about painless.

8 Things I Did Yesterday:

Sadly, I stayed in bed all day yesterday recovering from surgery so I'll pick....Friday.

1. Went to breakfast with my awesome group of girlfriends and watched them eat and drink while we chatted.
2. Went to see a girlfriends new house.
3. Rode around with my friend MJ looking for garage sales. Sadly, because of the weather, we only found one that wasn't worth slowing down for.
4. Rode to the hospital with Shawn and got checked in.
5. Hyperventilated when the nurse started my IV.
6. Told about 27 different people what surgery I was in for. Apparently it's a test to make sure you're in your right mind. After the fourth person I just started telling them I was going in for a blow torch procedure.
7. Talked to my extra cute gynecologist who I picked because of his looks. Sadly he went bald and lost some of the cuteness. When he came to see me he had a hat on so he was cute again!
8. Made Shawn stop and get me a Braum's burger and fries on the way home since I hadn't eaten in 18 hours!

8 Things I wish I could do:

1. Lose these pesky extra 40 pounds!
2. Help make our family debt free.
3. Have my mom back.
4. Keep a clean house!
5. Convince my Uncle Kevin to move his family from Texas to Oklahoma so we can see each other anytime we want.
6. Make myself like running.
7. A round off followed by five back handsprings.
8. Always make the right decisions the first time around.

19.What’s your favorite piece of clothing in your own closet? A dress that I bought for a friends wedding. It camouflages all the right things and makes me feel amazing!
20. What’s your dream job? Writer. My entire life I've dreamed of writing novels.
21. If you had $150 now what would you spend it on? A fun night out with Shawn and our girlies.
22. Do you admire anyone’s style? Yes, a friend at church. She always looks amazing no matter what the occasion.

24. Who’s fashion show would you want tickets to? Vera Wang for a wedding dress show. I would get married over and over again if I could. Always to Shawn of course! But I just loved all the planning and shopping. I'd love to renew our vows every year and have a new dress each time!
25. If you could slap one person with no repercussions, who would it be and why? The man who fired my mom from her job at the local college. She never recovered from that. I just saw him Thursday and it's hard being a Christian and knowing I should forgive him.
26. What are you most proud of? My girls and their musical talents and abilities.
27. Why do you like to blog and how long have you done it? I love it!!! It's such a release for me! These things are always in my head; funny stories, weird and random thoughts. Now I have a place to let them out. 13 months!! I had to go look to make sure. Wow, 13 months. The friends I've made through this has been the biggest blessing. I love you all!!!
