We live 5 blocks from the girls school. Some people drive over 20 minutes just to get there so I really don't feel like I can complain.
But if you've read this blog long enough, you know I'm going to!
Kennedy has to be there before 7:40 because she has a job walking the preschoolers to their rooms.
Reagan can't be there before 7:45 or she'd have to go sit in the cafeteria.
School starts at 8 for elementary but 8:05 for middle school.
When the weather was still nice all of this prevented us from walking in the mornings.
All that gibberish to say, I have to make two trips each morning. Now, I know you all are thinking, but only 5 blocks.
Cue the violins.
But let me 'splain!
Since our school system doesn't have school buses about 90% of the students are driven to school. And our school is pre-k to seniors all in two buildings in 4 blocks so that's a lot of cars. Over 1500 students that all have to be there between 8 and 8:05.
It is hard work to get them there!
So, I bet no one feels sorry for me, but I got it off my chest and I feel better:c)
Make me realize how easy I have it. Share your school drop off procedure.
I'd love to hear how you all do it!

We have to walk up a whole flight of stairs to get to school every morning. It's just brutal!
I have a friend who started homeschooling for this very reason!
Can you see my big grin??? I have three children and we live in a rural area. All three children go to three different schools, two in one direction and the other in an oppistie one. Nate and Marsh start school at 7:30 and Amelia starts at 8:30. The boys, I get up at 5:45 and Amelia gets up at 7. Nate, I take to the end of the driveway about 75 to 80 yards away on a golf cart except on the really cold mornings we hop in the van to catch the van. Marshall and Amelia, because they ride the handicaped buses, get picked up at the back door...I just open it and shove them out!!! BIG GRIN....
I have NINE blocks! My 9 year olds bus leaves at 8:10 9 blocks away, but I have to be to work by 8ish back at the house. So I take her early. My 15 year old... she has to be at the highschool (6 miles away) at varying times. If she doesn't have to go early, she'll ride the bus, and it leaves at 8 sharp at the same place I drop my 9 yo off.
Otherwise my hubby takes her to school as he works in the same town as her HS. And he doesn't mind going early.
We have to get up and walk to the living room. :)
