12 noon.
People lined up early. With hopes and dreams.
They started planning their claims.
There was quite a crowd.
Choice claims were pointed out and discussed.
When the shot was fired the men took off, running to grab their claims.
Women and children followed slowly with the wagons and all their possessions.

I'm already looking forward to next year ... although how I'm going to get my youngest in a prairie dress is beyond me. Maybe I can put her in overalls and pass her off as a boy.
What a fun day for the kids - and they got to learn something too! Cool!
Looks like a lot of fun - great photos!

These are just great photos. I love the way the light blues and browns work together. She looks so much like you, I think! Even more than the older one!!
Love these pics! Too bad I can't post more pics on my blog. Most of mine are just too inappropriate since I drink. A lot. And then people would trick me into enrolling in AA. =)
