Last year I lost my mind.
I decided to do a Christmas Tour of Homes as a fundraiser for a foundation that I'm on.
I also decided to be completely in charge of it while working from 8-3 each day at a seasonal job.
Then I decided to have our house on the tour.
That meant some home improvement was in order. The main thing we did was take out some carpet in what used to be the one car garage and is now our den. We scored and stained the concrete floor. Someday I'll share that story...but right now the pain is still too fresh.
Because that turned into a huge drain of every ounce of my energy, and seemed never ending, I thought I'd tackle a little project that I could do in a day.
The entryway.
I picked an outrageous color, Squash, and got busy. After it was done I planned to stencil gold fleur-di-lis randomly on it to finish it off.
That was 14 months ago.
I finally decided Tuesday of last week was the day.
It took an hour and a half.
An hour and a half!
Why had I put it off for so long??
Apparently all I needed was some loud dance music and a lovely assistant.
